Core Beliefs

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the all-time greatest written work available to man. It is Spirit-inspired and will never become outdated or irrelevant. It is the ultimate governing authority and the foundation of all Truth for every believer.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; II Peter 1:20-21

THE TRINITY

We believe in the Holy Trinity, in that God exists in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is the ultimate model of unity and His holiness is unequalled.
I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6

THE VIRGIN BIRTH

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He came to earth, born of a virgin and was simultaneously 100% God and 100% man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross, redeemed us by His blood and rose again to empower every believer with His resurrected life.
Matthew 1:18, 25; Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:27-35

SALVATION

We believe that we receive salvation via a ‘new birth’ experience. This transformation happens as a result of us repenting and receiving His gift of grace as we place faith in Him, His death and His resurrection. We grant Him access to our lives by submitting to His rule and reign, making Him Lord. We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our personal response to the Lord Jesus Christ. That expectation directly impacts the way we live our lives.

Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22

SANCTIFICATION

We believe in sanctification which is the daily yielding of ourselves to the standard of His character and nature. This is produced through the supernatural support of the Holy Spirit and not merely our works.
I Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; II Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18; II Thessalonians 2:1-3; Romans 8:29, 12:1-2; Hebrews 2:11

HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM

We believe the Holy Spirit is the relational connection to Christ at the time of salvation. He mentors, advises and influences us as the guide-rails into holy living. Through Holy Spirit baptism, subsequent to salvation, we chose to not just receive the influence of the Holy Spirit, but to live exclusively under His control. He becomes the driving force that powers our living, our choices, speech and conduct.
Matthew 3:11; Joel 2:28-29; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6

GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

We believe in the expressions of the fruit and gifts of the Spirit. Our faith in Christ goes beyond the accumulation of godly teaching and preaching. His presence and Glory is invited to become evident and fruitful in every area of our lives through His power and demonstration. We see these expressions work in harmony with God’s Word and purposes including prophecy, words of knowledge, exhortation, the use of tongues, discernment, healing and faith.
Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; I Timothy 4:14; II Timothy 1:6-7; I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10

HIS CHURCH

We believe the church is not only necessary, but vital. That we are an active and collective movement, a living and breathing force, walking in cooperation with Heaven to see His Kingdom take root in our community. We believe we should consistently break bread together, by regularly meeting and encouraging one another through discipleship, prayer and authentic fellowship.
Genesis 1:26; I John 5:7; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BELIEVER

We believe every Christian should righteously impact the social climate of our community. Believers should unequivocally oppose racism, every form of greed, selfishness, vice, injustice and all forms of sexual immorality. We should strive to protect the sanctity of marriage and the family unit. We should provide for the orphaned, the needy, the abused, the widowed, the helpless, and the sick. We should speak on behalf of the unborn and contend for the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. We should always be careful to act in the spirit of love without compromising our loyalty to Christ and His truth.
John 13:34; Proverbs 31:8-9; Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:3-4; James 1:27; Galatians 6:10; John 7:24; I Corinthians 12:13; Hebrews 13:4; Jeremiah 1:5

THE PRACTICE OF PRAYER

We believe in the power and effectiveness of prayer. It's our opportunity to communicate and fellowship with the Father. Prayer is not a monologue but dialogue. We believe our daily power comes from making room to hear Him in our prayer time. We also have the power to pray in the Spirit as He intercedes on our behalf.
Philippians 4:6-7; James 5:15-16, I Corinthians 14:15

DIVINE HEALING

We believe that Jesus, by the finished work of the cross, has made provision to heal and transform us spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. These manifest in many different ways and work in tandem with His timing and sovereign plan.
Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-15; I Peter 2:24

THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH AND THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

We believe in the promise of Christ’s return, referred to as 'The Rapturing of the church', an unspecified time, as He returns in the clouds for His children.

Subsequently, after 7 years, He will return with His children in the Second Coming to judge the earth and for His Kingdom to reign.
Matthew 24:29-31, 25:31; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Acts 1:9-11; II Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7

WATER BAPTISM

We believe that every believer should be baptized in water as a public acknowledgment of their faith Jesus.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:4

THE LORD'S SUPPER

We believe in the frequent practice of remembering the sacrifice of Jesus by partaking in the fellowship of the Lord’s supper, also know as communion.
Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
