PATRICK + CHRISTINA DOPSON

LEAD PASTOR

MINISTRY + FAMILY HISTORY

Patrick Dopson has been involved in ministry since the age of seven when he started playing the drums and singing in the church his parents pastored in historic Selma, Alabama. As a young child, Patrick knew that his destiny would involve a life dedicated to sharing the gospel in multiple forms. He would sit for hours on the front pew of the church and be captivated with the sounds of worship as his mother, Patricia, directed choir rehearsals. She greatly influenced and encouraged him to honor God with his gifts even as a child.

At 19, Patrick forewent an opportunity to attend a university and sidelined his love for football to accept a greater call. Patrick married his wife Christina and only a few months after they wed, he accepted his first full-time position as Worship Pastor at a large multi-cultural church in Alabama. Since those green and early beginnings, they have served various ministries over the years including one of his influences, Pastor, singer / songwriter, Gary Oliver. They also served as Lead Pastors of a church in south Louisiana prior to moving back to the Metroplex in 2019. Most recently, he served as Associate Pastor to Dr. Tony Evans at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, TX where he gave leadership and vision to the Worship and Fine Arts, Media and Broadcast and Hospitality departments.

In 2010 and 2014 Patrick and Christina stretched their faith in the adoption of their two sons and saw God's promises come into fruition. In 2015 Patrick overcame a life-altering diagnosis of kidney cancer. That experience propelled him into a more intimate relationship with Christ. Subsequently, 2018 brought additional tests of his faith as he was faced with the unexpected loss of his greatest influence, his mother. These events caused him to dig deeper in his fellowship with God. After a series of tumultuous circumstances and soul-searching, God stirred his heart for shepherding people.

In the summer of 2022, on numerous occasions, God prophetically revealed His desire for them to birth a movement, KINGDOM CENTRAL, in the city of Mansfield, TX, a suburb of the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex. In January of 2023, the Dopsons made a life-changing decision to honor God in complete faith and transition from a place of comfort and much fulfillment into the unknown.

Patrick and Christina recently celebrated 26 years of marriage and reside in the Mansfield / Grand Prairie, Texas area of the DFW Metroplex along with their two sons, Garion (14) and Isaiah (10) and one spoiled golden doodle, Louie. Their two boys have amazing adoption stories and they are inspiring testaments to the goodness and faithfulness of God.
